Round-table ~ Artists' career paths
Charlotte Coquen, Clémence Van Lunen, Valérie Delarue and Patrick Loughran, members of the C14 PARIS association, will take part in the round-table discussion to be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 16:00 to share with us their career paths as contemporary ceramic artists.
Charlotte Coquen
Trained at the Beaux-arts de Rouen and the Institut Européen des Arts Céramiques in Guebwiller, Charlotte Coquen has lived and worked in Rouen since 2015. Her protean approach, involving sculpture and installation, places special emphasis on ceramics. The artist is developing research into identity claims and various questions about the body. She jubilantly juggles mediums and techniques to achieve her ends.
Charlotte Coquen is a member of the C14 PARIS association. She was a guest at C14 PARIS in 2022, where she exhibited her recent work. She won the special mention in 2014 and the jury prize in 2016 at the show formerly known as Céramique 14.

Clémence Van Lunen
Born in Brussels in 1959, Clémence van Lunen studied with sculptor Michel Smolders in Brussels, then with Etienne Martin at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
Clémence Van Lunen exhibits her work at Galerie Polaris (Paris) and Galerie Alice Mogabgab (Beirut / Brussels). She has accompanied numerous art students throughout her career, first at Les Ateliers de Paris, then at ESBA TALM (Angers and Le Mans - France), and is currently a professor at the Haute École des arts du Rhin (Strasbourg - France).

Valérie Delarue
Valérie Delarue is an artist with a degree in sculpture from ENSBA Paris, and a B.A. in plastic arts from Université Paris VIII. She adopted the ceramic medium after working in Viola Frey's studio (CCAC/Oakland) and with the artisans at the Cité de la Céramique in Sèvres in 1992, 1995, 2002 and in 2010 during a residency.
She has taught at ESADHAR Le Havre-Rouen and set up a ceramics workshop at ESAD Reims.
She currently teaches at Les ateliers du Carrousel (MAD Paris) and at the ABA de la ville de Paris.
She has taken part in numerous exhibitions in France and abroad, including: Enchanting the Earth, Château du Rivau - Lémeré 2023, Formes vivantes Sèvres, Manufacture et musées nationaux 2023, Un printemps incertain, MAD Paris 2021, Un peu, beaucoup, avec passion, Enseigne des Oudin-Fonds de dotation Paris 2021, Le cèdre et le papyrus - Paysages de la Bible, Musée de Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye 2020, De pierre et de peau, Galerie Mercier et Associés Paris 2019.
Valérie Delarue is a member of the C14 PARIS association.
Patrick Loughran
Patrick Loughran is a ceramist. Originally from Detroit (USA), he holds degrees in Political Science and Fine Arts from Columbia University, New York City.
He has taught ceramics at art schools in New York, Chicago and New Mexico.
In 1991 he moved to Paris. He has taught at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Art de Limoges (France) and in several municipal art schools.
He exhibits sculptures and drawings in France and abroad: L'Expérience de la couleur, Sèvres, Cité de la céramique, Spielraum 122, Arizona State University Art Museum, Tempe AZ, USA; 19th Biennale Internationale de la Céramique de Châteauroux; Biennale Internationale de Céramique de Vallauris (Prix de la Ville de Vallauris 2016); Prix David Miller (Bandol 2013) ; Saarländisches Künstlerhaus, (Saarbrücken, Germany); Espace Gainville (Aulnay-sous-bois); Fondation Bernardaud (Limoges) and Mona Bismarck Foundation (Paris); Maison d'art contemporain Chaillioux (Fresnes); Espace d'art contemporain Camille Lambert (Juvisy-sur-Orge); Fule International Ceramic Museums (Fuping, China).
Patrick Loughran is a member of the C14 PARIS association.
