The Centre céramique contemporaine is a ceramics production site with a special focus on wood firing and the transmission of exceptional know-how. To experience wood firing is to understand the strength and artistic commitment of the potters, ceramists and artists who have built their business around a kiln and a community of potters concerned with their independence.

The winner of the Prix Résidence 2020 will be offered an environment conducive to the emergence of his or her research or artistic projects. Residents will have access to research and production resources, as well as specific support, theoretical and practical tools for working with clay and wood-fired kilns, enabling them to develop their professional autonomy and connect to a regional, national and international artistic network.

COURSE OF THE RESIDENCY

- minimum duration of 50 days (consecutive or split nights),
- provision of production equipment and wood-fired furnaces (Anagama, Olsen, other, depending on research needs),
- purchase of raw materials,
- specific supervision by a ceramist (CCCLB staff, ACLB member or ceramist on request, depending on research needs)
- accommodation in "la maison des Châtelets",
- provision of a vehicle,
- commission an art historian to write a text on the ceramic artist's work.

WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP

The Centre céramique contemporaine La Borne is a cultural and tourist facility of the Communauté de Communes Terres du Haut Berry. The program of exhibitions resonates with the artistic continuity of the Association Céramique La Borne, which has over 70 members of thirteen different nationalities, based within a 35 km radius of La Borne. All create unique pieces of utilitarian pottery and sculpture.
