Announcement of the 2024 winners
Jury Prize with the support of the Andrée and Michel Hirlet Endowment Fund
Léonore Chastagner builds a vocabulary of figurative forms centered on notions of intimacy, interiority and tenderness. This is a sculptor's work, attentive, sensitive and powerful. The jury was struck by the sincerity and restraint of the artist's approach.
Prix Galerie with the support of galerie Bernard Jordan (two winners)
Anja Marschal develops a splintered, splashy sculptural work that highlights her dual culture of communism and liberalism. Her colorful portrait-landscape is the result of a combination of studio scraps that make sense in free-form shapes. This emerging career and magnetic body of work has been recognized by the Prix Galerie.
Rémi Galtier truncates his structures to better unfold their possibilities. He looks for ephemeral assemblies, improbable meetings and unnatural elevations. He deploys an audacious palette. His textural approach (pleated, silky) is nurtured by a rich background that today brings him back to ceramics. The Galerie prize will give him the opportunity to assert his ambitions.
Prix résidence with the support of the Bruckner Foundation
Camille Reidt has been experimenting with scientists for several years. Her research is formalized in a porcelain practice where fire provokes colorful fusions imbued with nature. Her processes, which are as much about archaeology as geology, are fascinating and open up new possibilities that a residency is sure to satisfy.
