Nicolas Roscia

Nicolas Roscia entered ceramics instinctively and extrovertly. From then on, his mode of expression would be as he himself is: virile and virulent, hyper-sensitive. A melancholy work too. He works in stoneware, fired or modeled, always generously covered with glaze. Far from being a superficial finish, this vivid, blended color becomes for him a veritable molten material, a lava that freezes and glues together scattered, rudimentary formal elements. Crushed skulls and dented mechanical parts form a vision of a humanity that is scarred but survives.

Born in 1981. Lives and works in Le Poët-Célard.
