Cyril Chartier-Poyet

His work revolves around two approaches. He continues to use external elements, taken for their plastic qualities, so that they become the matrix and starting point for my new research. At the same time, he is beginning research into volumes that can contain and generate their own form, by hollowing out the material and reusing the excess to shape the rest of the piece. This work relegates craftsmanship to the status of tools, leaving the rest to do the rest. It is in this economy and truth of means that Cyril Chartier-Poyet has revealed himself to the public, in just a few years of ceramic activity and after 15 years of pictorial practice.
