Nathalie Perret

She refuses to submit to the dictates of the rules and customs associated with technical mastery of the material, in favor of its physical expressiveness and the meaning sought. Rejecting glazing and its complexities, she prefers pigments, Indian ink or ballpoint pen ink; accepting firing accidents. Nathalie Perret denounces European cultural imperialism underpinned by centuries of colonialism. Behind the extreme seductiveness of pulpy, metallic colors, lies the bitter memory of humiliated cultures. SLF-H
