TRAINING

2010 DNSEP École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris (in Anne Rochette's studio)
post-graduate studies: Kaolin at ENSA Limoges (2012) then Offshore with ENSA de Nancy (2013), which enabled him to spend a year in China.
Teacher-researcher - research and creation - under the supervision of Eric Van Essche and Caroline Andrin. Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de La Cambre - ceramics department. Université Libre de Belgique and GRESAC (Groupe de recherche en sciences des arts et de la culture) research laboratory.

After her 2013 residency in China, Marion Bocquet-Appel began a series of biscuit-glazed porcelain urns, a whole universe of whiteness and ashes. Becoming more sculpture than container, the subsequent works, with their subtle sfumato, lined up, playing with intervals and spacing to configure a space. Her intention is to inscribe in the exhibition space a veritable landscape, majestic and intriguing: mountains of porcelain and stoneware pots reveal her passion for ancestral ceramic techniques, which she has gathered from artisans in the Maghreb and Asia.
