After graduating in art in China in 2008, Junliang Ma founded a first studio in Hangzhou in 2014. He now lives and works in Strasbourg, France. He first participated in the C14 Paris show in 2024 with a series of works entitled "Ma mémoire". This year, he presents a new series of works that he considers more in-depth and open-ended, and which question certain notions that are essential to him: temporality, the border, metamorphosis. His work is fundamentally in the tradition of Chinese ceramics, in its use of traditional techniques (modelling, throwing) and in its choice of forms (mountain landscapes) inherited from the pictorial tradition of his native country.(...)
