"Tableau d'une exposition", the title of the presentation, could be a reference to Modest Mussorgsky's suite. Olivia Mortier sees it as a tribute to the abundant nature found in the tapestries of the 1950s-60s, by cartonniers such as Jean Lurçat (1892-1966) and Dom Robert (1907-1997), or those of Belgians Roger Somville (1923-2014) and Edmond Dubrunfaut (1920-2007), renovators of haute lisse tapestry in Tournai. Olivier Mortier lives between Tournai and Brussels. As a scholarship holder (2015) and then artistic advisor (2018-2021) at TAMAT (Musée de la Tapisserie et des Arts Textiles) in Tournai, she discovered an exceptional tapestry-making heritage spanning the 15th to the 21st centuries.
