Cécile Meynier is a visual artist who works in sculpture, ceramics, site-specific installation and, more recently, performance. She constructs her own exhibition furniture and environments, enveloping her objects in a kind of landscape. She draws on the potential of various traditional and non-traditional media to develop a formal language all her own. The relationship with everyday objects, the origin of the creative gesture, the status of the work of art and its tradition are among the questions she seeks to demystify.
